+02The challenge

Selling premium Wagyu online asks a website to do the job a butcher's counter normally does. The buyer cannot see, smell, or touch the meat, so the site has to make it look worth the price and make the quality believable at the same time. Without that, an expensive cut is an easy thing to close the tab on.

03What we did

This is a full store, not a brochure, so every screen is built to move a browser to checkout. A signature-cut hero pulls people in, close-up marbling and provenance do the selling, and the whole path runs on a Stripe checkout buyers trust. The conversion work is in the details: a free-shipping progress bar that nudges the basket higher, cut-to-order and cold-chain promises placed exactly where the doubt lives, scarcity badges on limited cuts, a postcode delivery-zone check, and a restock alert so a sold-out cut still earns a lead. It turns a hard sell, expensive meat you cannot touch before buying, into confident orders with a bigger average basket.

+04Design decisions

Why it looks the way it does

The thinking behind the design: what we chose, what we changed, and why.

01

Appetite is the design

A deep, near-black ground and close-up marbling let the product sell itself. On a steak shop the photography is the pitch, so everything else stays out of its way.

02

Origin is the proof

Country flags, farm sourcing and marbling grade turn trust me into evidence. For meat this expensive, showing where it comes from is half the sale.

03

The cut is the catalogue

A know-your-cut layer teaches the buyer the difference between a ribeye and a tomahawk, so a first-timer orders with confidence instead of closing the tab.

04

Cold chain, stated plainly

Chilled not frozen, cut to order, weight tolerance stated. The promises that justify the price sit right on the product page, where the doubt actually lives.
