How long does it take to build a website

The honest answer is: a standard small business site can go live in a few days. We ship most of ours in 3. But "a few days" hides a lot, and the thing that decides your real website build timeline is almost never the code. It is your content, your approvals, and the number of custom features you actually need. Let me break down where the time goes, so you can plan around it instead of being surprised.

01

The 3-day standard site

For a normal service business, restaurant, clinic, or shop with a clear set of pages, three working days is realistic. Here is roughly what those days look like.

Day one is structure and design. We decide the pages, the layout of each one, and the look. If you already have a logo and brand colours, this moves fast. If you do not, we build a simple brand kit first so the site has a consistent feel.

Day two is the build. Real pages, real content in place, mobile layouts, the editable panel wired up, forms connected, and basic SEO set from the start. Trilingual LV, RU, EN if you need it, which is normal for Latvia.

Day three is the pass that most people skip: checking it on a phone, testing every form and button, fixing spacing, making it fast, and connecting your domain. This is the day that separates a site that looks done from a site that works.

Three days assumes one thing above all. That your content is ready or that you trust us to write it.

02

What actually makes it take longer

Nine times out of ten, a project runs long for one of these reasons, and none of them are technical.

Content you still need to gather. Photos of your work, your team, your space. The text for each service. Prices. If you are pulling this together as we build, the site waits on you. The fix is simple: hand over what you have on day one, even if it is rough. We can write the copy and use good placeholder imagery, then swap in your real photos when they arrive.

Custom features. A basic contact form is instant. A booking system that holds slots and prevents double-bookings, a members area, an online shop with payments, a multi-step quote calculator: these are real software, and they add days or weeks depending on scope. A simple restaurant with a menu and a booking request is fast. A shop with 400 products, stock, and card payments is a different project.

Approvals. This is the quiet killer. If one person can look at the site and say "yes, ship it," you are fine. If it needs to go past three partners, a marketing manager, and someone's spouse, every round of feedback adds days. Not because the changes are hard, but because waiting for five people to reply takes a week.

Rethinking it mid-build. Deciding on day two that you actually want a totally different structure means redoing day one. Agree the plan up front and the build stays fast.

03

E-commerce and bookings: plan for weeks, not days

If you are selling online, be honest with yourself about the timeline. A real shop needs product data, photos, descriptions, categories, shipping rules, tax settings, and a tested payment flow. Even when the build is quick, entering and checking hundreds of products is work that takes time.

Same with booking-heavy sites. A booking that cannot silently fail has to be tested against real edge cases: two people trying to grab the last slot, timezone and daylight-saving shifts, reminders. That testing is worth the extra days. A booking form that loses reservations is worse than no form at all.

Set expectations here at the start. A shop or a serious booking system is a one-to-three week project for most small businesses, sometimes more.

04

How to make your build fast

You have more control over the timeline than the agency does. Do these three things and almost any standard site ships in days.

Get your content to us early. Text, photos, logo, and a clear list of pages. Even half of it on day one keeps things moving.

Name one decision-maker. One person who can approve the design and say go. Collect feedback from everyone else, but funnel it through that one person so we get a single clear answer instead of five conflicting ones.

Agree the structure before we build. Sign off on the page plan and the layout early. Changing the paint colour on day three is cheap. Changing the whole floor plan is not.

05

Where projects stall, and how we cut it

Most agencies lose weeks in two places: waiting on the client, and slow back-and-forth over small changes. We handle the second one by giving you an editable panel with the site. You do not have to email us to fix a typo or change a price. You log in and change it yourself. That removes a whole category of delay, both during the build and forever after.

We also work to a fixed price and a fixed date. You know what you are getting and when. No open-ended hourly meter that quietly makes it in nobody's interest to finish.

06

A realistic timeline to plan around

If you want numbers to hold in your head:

A standard brochure or service site with content ready: 3 days. Add a few days if you need us to write the copy and source imagery.

A site with a booking request or simple forms: 3 to 5 days.

A small online shop or a reliable slot-booking system: 1 to 3 weeks, depending on product count and how much testing the flow needs.

A large shop or something with custom software behind it: scoped case by case.
